JAWA BARAT — TNI bersikap netral dan siap
memberikan bantuan kepada Polri dalam pelaksanaan pengamanan pemilihan kepala daerah (Pilkada) serentak tahun 2017. Hal ini ditegaskan Panglima TNI Jenderal TNI
Gatot Nurmantyo, melalui rilis yang diterima Portalinspiratif.com, Minggu 29 Januari 2017.
Gatot mengatakan bahwa, sesuai arahan Presiden RI Ir. H. Joko Widodo, Pilkada harus berjalan aman baik sebelum, selama maupun sesudah pelaksanaan, sehingga program pemerintah dapat berjalan dengan baik dan lancar.
“Peran TNI membantu
mengamankan pelaksanaan Pilkada serentak, kebijakan ini adalah tindak lanjut dari arahan Presiden RI,” katanya.
Dirinya menambahkan, dalam mengamankan pelaksanaan Pilkada serentak 2017, Jenderal TNI
Gatot Nurmantyo menegaskan bahwa demi kelancaran pesta demokrasi tersebut, TNI ikut berpartisipasi
dengan menerjunkan pasukan TNI yang tersebar di 101 daerah, baik tingkat Provinsi, Kabupaten dan Kota.
“Salah satu bentuk partisipasi yang akan dilakukan TNI adalah dengan mengerahkan pasukan TNI yang disebar di seluruh wilayah
Indonesia, guna menjaga dan mendeteksi kemungkinan ancaman terhadap pelaksanaan Pilkada,” ujarnya.(*)
